It has unfortunately already been one year since my last blog update. If you're ever interested in time travel, work on a video game solo. I have been making significant progress on my latest project: SORTING GAME! A roguelike where you sort packages in a dystopian virtual world. In my last blog I had stated that I was working on a demo version of the game, and that the Steam page was still a W.I.P. I can happily say now that not only is the Steam page up, but there is also a cool short cinematic reveal trailer providing a peek into this weird world. Yeah, the demo is still being worked on but it is getting really really close to being completed. Gameplay is pretty much done, cutscenes are about 85% completed, and final assets are nearing completion. Hoping to get to the playtesting stage before the end of August, but I've never been good at predicting my own ongoing progress so no promises... I have admittedly been experiencing waves of burnout, with some weeks being incredibly productive and others being the opposite. I assume this is normal and that I just need to manage my work better (also university). Regardless of how I feel, the grind will never ever stop.

I've been working on this game since late 2023, and to say it has been smooth would be a lie. It has gone through so many iterations, even having to be completely redone from scratch last year due to me completing Sadmin Night VR and realising I could be doing so many things way better. I've already made the ending to this game years ago and will end up making it again lol. The ending is trippy and AWESOME! Despite all that, Sorting Game is currently in its best form and will soon be playable publicaly in the form of a demo.

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting Sorting Game's development so far, I will do everything I can to make this all worth breaking up with Henry Stickmin. I assume I will be rebuilding my audience from scratch since Sorting Game is nothing like my previous work, though I do hope those who have stuck around for this long appreciate this game for what it is or at least try it out. For the first time I feel like I've made something that is wholly me, and that no one else can make Sorting Game the way that I've done it. It is a culmination of many personal experiences, art I've appreciated, emotions I've felt, and games that have changed my life. This game is an element of me.

Hippie stuff aside, please wishlist Sorting Game on Steam! It costs nothing to wishlist and helps the game reach its audience! See you guys hopefully this year again in time for the demo... RAMBLING OVER!
